China Cultural Center exhibition draws on wisdom of coexisting in harmony
The China Cultural Center in Paris, France, is exhibiting 200 contemporary posters themed around the ancient Chinese value of coexisting in harmony, drawing on perspectives ranging from tradition and modernity, East and West, and humanity and nature.
Zhu Xiaoyun, deputy director of the center, said that in today's turbulent and fast-changing world, peace carries a simple meaning for everyone. "Chinese people hold a profound understanding of peace, and our wisdom about peace stretches back to ancient times. The contemporary Chinese peace posters on display respond through artistic creation to the shared question: 'What kind of world do we want to live in?'," Zhu said.
Zhang Linghao, president of Nanjing University of the Arts, said that the National Art Fund-supported exhibition strives to bring Chinese peace-themed art to a broader international stage. Paris' position as a convergence of diverse cultures makes it an ideal location for launching the touring exhibition. He hopes that the show will serve as an opportunity to continuously deepen cooperation between art academies in China and France, and contribute wisdom and solutions to the global cause of peace.
