Stronger international cooperation, supported by continued research and expert exchanges, is essential to speeding up the return of lost cultural relics, said Quoc Binh Nguyen, deputy director of the Vietnam National Museum of History at the Liangzhu Forum.
Speaking at a sub-forum titled "Asia and the Pacific Regional Dialogue on New Forms of Agreements and Cooperation for Return and Restitution of Cultural Property", Nguyen said such collaboration is key to improving and expediting the process of bringing more relics back to their rightful homes.
He delivered his speech in fluent Mandarin, which he taught himself, and later gave an interview to China Daily in the language.
Nguyen noted that Vietnam and China, due to shared social and historical contexts, face similar challenges regarding the loss of cultural relics. He underscored the importance of strengthening international cooperation to facilitate the return of these treasures.
