Nearly 100 international journalists visited the Memorial Hall of the Victims in Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders in Nanjing, Jiangsu province, on Oct 16. Inside the hall, they listened carefully, asked questions, took photos and demonstrated empathy that transcends borders.
"Even if you prepare yourself for it, when you see this horrendous act, it's still very moving," said Geraldo Cantarino, a member of the governing council of the Brazilian Press Association. "This kind of place is very important. We need to understand the past, so we don't forget and move forward towards peace and understanding."
