With autumn in full swing and breezes bringing a refreshing coolness, the autumn drying spectacle has arrived as expected in Xiya village of Xianju county, Zhejiang province.

A vibrant harvest tapestry is gradually unfolding in the courtyards of old homes. Taking advantage of the fine weather, villagers carefully sort freshly harvested grains, chili peppers, corn, beans, and other crops into round bamboo sieves. Some are air-dried on racks, while others are hung along the walls. Bundles of corn gleam in golden fullness, and batches of chili peppers blaze bright red. The scattered arrangement of round drying sieves, juxtaposed with the gray tiled roofs, stone walls, and dappled sunlight, creates a harmonious scene steeped in rustic charm that exudes an irresistible countryside allure.
