Peng'an county in Nanchong, Sichuan province, brought folk parades into its scenic spots during the weeklong National Day holiday, offering visitors a feast of traditional charm with intangible cultural heritage performances.

At the Jialing No 1 Sangzi Tourism Area, performers staged lotus dragon dances, lotus-picking boat shows, cheche lantern performances, and lianxiao stick dances, drawing applause and pulling visitors into the parade to dance along.

In Xiangru Ancient City—the home of Western Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 24) poet and musician Sima Xiangru—a Han-style garden party was held, featuring Sichuan Opera face-changing and fire-spitting, Han-style flash mobs and dances, folk performances, and interactive activities.
