Efforts to preserve and revive the cultural heritage of Nanhaizi in southern Beijing have gained momentum with the restoration of key Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) sites, experts and officials said at a cultural forum in the capital on Sunday.

Held in Daxing district, the forum focused on Nanhaizi. This former imperial hunting ground contains a cluster of historical sites associated with Beijing's southern development, including Deshou Temple and the Tuanhe Imperial Palace. Reconstruction on both sites finished during the summer after more than a decade of work.
