Chinese equestrian athlete Hua Tian is back at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games — and this time, he's in Tokyo for his fourth appearance. As the defending champion in eventing, Hua is aiming to stay competitive and fight for another medal with his horse Manjushri (also known as Bodhi). What has changed since the young rider first stepped onto the Asian Games stage? And how does he approach competition today? China Daily's Spotlight caught up with Hua ahead of the equestrian events to hear about his preparations and long-term goals with his horses.
