Chinese soprano Yan Zhaoyi: I want to share Chinese music, sing it to the world

At China Daily's Vision China event, themed "Listen to Each Other, Open New Horizons", in London on Thursday, young representatives from China and the UK jointly presented River Moon and Summer's Day: A Dialogue Across a Millennium. Young Chinese soprano Yan Zhaoyi said that while singing the Chinese folk song The Flowing Stream, she felt as though she had crossed mountains and seas and returned to the embrace of her homeland. Speaking about how Chinese music can reach audiences around the world, she said what matters is knowing who the audience is — and knowing whom we are singing for.
