Under clear skies, farmers fan out the chili across the drying grounds — their fiery red stretching across the autumn abundance.

August is the harvest and sun-drying season for fresh chili peppers in Bohu county in Bayingolin Mongolian autonomous prefecture of the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.
