APEC artists wrap up five-day Guangdong field study in Dongguan

A five-day field study taking international artists through four Guangdong province cities wrapped up in Dongguan on Friday, with illustrators and cartoonists from multiple APEC economies completing the final leg of the APEC Vision-Guangdong Impressions tour.

In Dongguan, the group visited Songshan Lake Science City, the Memorial Park of the Dongshen Water Supply Project, Dapingzhang Forest Park, and Shipai Trendy Toy Industrial Cluster, gaining firsthand exposure to the city's manufacturing base, technological development, and ecological progress.

"We truly felt how the warmth of local people and the wisdom of regional life coexist in harmony with architecture, technology, and AI," said Takise Momoe, a Japanese illustrator. "I hope to express all of this through illustration."

The tour, which began on July 27, took eight artists from APEC economies, including Russia, Japan, Singapore, and Indonesia, through Guangzhou, Shaoguan, Shenzhen, and Dongguan. It was organized ahead of November's APEC summit in Shenzhen, Guangdong's first time hosting the meeting.

Organizers plan to stage an offline thematic exhibition and release works created during the tour on domestic and international platforms. The event was jointly organized by the information office of the Guangdong provincial government and China Daily, and co-managed with IP Guangdong, a Guangdong image branding platform.
