Liu Guohong appointed to top Party post at Ministry of Natural Resources

Liu Guohong has been appointed secretary of the leading Communist Party of China group of the Ministry of Natural Resources, according to an announcement posted on the ministry's official WeChat account on Thursday.

Born in 1966 in Jiangyin, Jiangsu province, Liu joined the Communist Party of China in 1985 and graduated from Nanjing University in 1992 with a degree in human geography, according to publicly available information.

He has worked in the field of natural resources since graduation and was appointed director of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration in January 2025.
