Cooking competition in Chongqing identifies top tastebud ticklers

The 2026 Kaizhou Culinary Competition commenced on Thursday morning in Chongqing's Kaizhou district, in an area known as Kaizhou Culinary Vocational Education City.
Eighty-two specialists from 24 cities across five provinces entered the fierce showdown, showcasing their Chinese culinary mastery.
The competition involved two main groups — professionals and students — with categories for Chinese cooking and pastry arts. The winners of gold, silver and bronze medals will get priority employment recommendations and entrepreneurial support.
