He made the remarks on Monday when Wang Ning, secretary of the CPC Yunnan Provincial Committee and chairman of the Standing Committee of the Yunnan Provincial People's Congress, met with the delegation in Kunming.

Wang briefed the delegation on Yunnan's economic and social development, highlighting the province's unique strengths. He noted that in recent years, Yunnan has engaged in productive exchanges and cooperation with Pacific island nations. The province looks forward to deepening collaboration in tourism, culture, education, and other areas, sharing its development experience, and contributing to the building of an even closer community with a shared future between China and Pacific island nations.

Oti said that the trip had given the delegation a deeper appreciation of China's development journey. China's commitment to scientific planning, whole-process people's democracy, law-based governance, and people-centered development offers profound lessons, he said.

"We will carry these reflections home with great respect as we continue to strengthen our own democratic institutions and to pursue our national development aspirations in the Solomon Islands," he added.
