Institute aims to deepen high-level global cooperation

The Global Civilization Institute, a high-end comprehensive academic platform founded by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, was inaugurated in Beijing on Wednesday.

The institute aims to fully implement the Global Civilization Initiative, conduct interdisciplinary research on global civilizations, continuously expand the global influence of Chinese civilization, and strengthen the development of a Chinese intellectual system for global civilization studies.

The institute is expected to provide a theoretical foundation and intellectual support to deepen exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations, forge consensus on global cooperation, and advance the building of a community with a shared future for humanity.

According to CASS, the institute will focus on key research fields such as new forms of human civilization, basic theories of civilization, history of civilizations, comparative civilization studies, and the influence of artificial intelligence on the development of global civilizations.

The institute will continuously produce high-quality research outputs that are strategic, forward-looking and practically relevant. Meanwhile, the institute will commit itself to building a global network for academic dialogue and cooperation on civilization research and forging a high-level platform for international academic exchanges.
