Chinese police begin monthlong joint patrol in Croatia
A Chinese police team arrived in Croatia on July 13 to begin a monthlong joint patrol mission with Croatian police, the Ministry of Public Security said.
The team was formed by the ministry at the invitation of Croatian police. It marks the seventh joint police patrol mission conducted by the two countries.
An official with the ministry's international cooperation department said the Chinese team will actively implement the Global Security Initiative and the Global Civilization Initiative while upholding the principles of cooperation, innovation, the rule of law and mutual benefit.
During the mission, Chinese officers will assist Croatian police in addressing the security concerns of Chinese tourists and overseas Chinese in Croatia, the official said.
The patrol is also expected to further deepen law enforcement and security cooperation between China and Croatia, contribute to the development of bilateral relations and demonstrate the professionalism of Chinese police officers, the official added.
Previous joint patrol missions were completed safely and smoothly, achieving positive results and helping the two sides establish a stable and effective bilateral law enforcement cooperation mechanism, the ministry said.
