Chinese coffee master named as champion

Chinese barista and coffee creator Liu Zhanhong, also known as Andy Philein, has made history by winning the 2026 World Coffee in Good Spirits Championship (WCIGS), becoming the first champion from the Chinese mainland in the competition's history.

Held from June 25 to 27 in Brussels, Belgium, the global event brought together top coffee professionals from around the world to showcase their creativity in combining coffee and spirits. As one of the seven major competitions under the World Coffee Championships, WCIGS focuses on the balance of flavor, technical skills, innovation and storytelling.
