Wuhan University in Hubei province opened its new School of International Law on June 27, expanding its legal education capacity in response to growing demand for foreign-related legal expertise.
The new school aims to train law students who can work across different fields and handle international legal and governance issues.
Qin Tianbao, dean of the new school, pointed to China's shortage of talent in foreign-related and international affairs as the nation's presence on the global stage increases, saying that the school is intended to "support national needs and improve China's ability to take part in global legal systems".
