Watch how the lives of residents in Southwest China's Guizhou province have changed after relocating from deep in the mountains.

In China's largest relocation effort, more than 1.92 million people in Guizhou have moved from their mountain homes to urban areas, seeking more convenient living conditions and better livelihood opportunities.

From working as migrant workers to opening their own businesses, and from pitch-black wooden shacks to bright concrete homes near local hospitals and kindergartens, life still requires careful budgeting. Yet when looking back, change becomes visible.
