Tencent Video has officially premiered the third season of its hit comedy competition series, Stand-up Comedy and Friends, drawing over 50 contestants who will compete in group lineups throughout the run.
Departing from the traditional solo-performance model of previous editions, this season introduces a collaborative competitive framework in which participants are required not only to deliver individual stand-up routines but also to coordinate strategies and performances with their teammates.
Mutual support and onstage synergy have become key factors in advancing to subsequent rounds, adding a new layer of complexity to the comedic contest.
Beyond the stage, the season incorporates a reality-show component, with all contestants living together in shared accommodation. Through daily interaction and collective activities, they are encouraged to form genuine connections, offer emotional support, and navigate personal challenges, ultimately pursuing self-acceptance and a clearer sense of identity within the high-pressure competition environment.
The judging panel for the new season features a lineup of celebrities, including veteran host Chen Luyu, singer-songwriter Zhang Wei, widely known by his stage name Da Zhang Wei, and actress Yan Ni, as well as vocalist Zhou Shen. Throughout the competition, the judges will evaluate performances, spotlight their favored acts, and provide on-the-spot commentary on the contestants' material and delivery.
With its format overhaul and star-studded panel, the latest season aims to expand the show's appeal while deepening its focus on both comedic artistry and personal growth.
