The Long March (1934-36) remains a central subject in Chinese cinema, featured in productions such as the 1996 film The Long March and the newly released Crossing, which revisits military episodes of the campaign.

Actors and filmmakers including Hou Jingjian and Liu Jin, who have made similar films on the subject, shared personal accounts and read poetry reflecting on the pivotal turning point in modern Chinese revolutionary history.

Crossing's producer Yu Dong said Guizhou carries historical and emotional significance for the production, pointing to the Zunyi Conference as a spiritual starting point and recalling months of filming across the province's landscapes.

During a live broadcast segment, participants guided online audiences on visits to Maotai township and the Loushanguan scenic area, among other sites, to reconstruct the route of the Long March and its historical memory.
