A village-based e-commerce promoter has organized residents in Beizhuang village, Shijiazhuang, Hebei province, to make traditional cloth shoes, helping increase local incomes by turning a fading handicraft into a booming business.
Wang Yamei, who manages the village's e-commerce base, returned to her hometown in the spring of 2021. She founded a handicraft workshop with a clear mission: to revive the shoemaking skills passed down through generations of local grandmothers and create a sustainable source of income for her community.
