During its early days, the school faced extreme fuel and material shortages, leading pioneers to use horses to pull airplanes, push trains by hand, and burn alcohol as aviation fuel.
Between its founding in 1946 and its closure on Dec 23, 1949, the school trained over 560 aviation professionals and produced a large number of military, political, logistical, and technical management cadres.
Many important figures are products of the school, including renowned combat heroes and the engineers who helped design fighter jets, missiles, and rockets.
