Ryan Fleur, president and CEO of the Philadelphia Orchestra, recalled that the orchestra's first visit to China in 1973 marked the first tour of a US orchestra to China after the founding of the People's Republic of China. Over the past five decades, he said, the orchestra has remained committed to strengthening cultural exchange and artistic cooperation between the United States and China, adding that the orchestra remains proud of the deepening friendship between the Philadelphia Orchestra and the Chinese people.
