Premier Li Qiang stressed on Wednesday the need to uphold a people-centered approach in the process of urbanization and to fully unleash the enormous potential of integrated urban-rural development, in order to provide strong momentum for economic and social growth.

He called for tailored implementation of new-type urbanization plans based on local conditions, scientific and orderly progress in granting permanent urban residency to rural migrants, and deeper promotion of urban renewal initiatives, among other measures.
