Gold bar series gallops into the Year of the Horse
The 2026 Bingwu (Year of the Horse) Commemorative Gold Bullion series officially launched on Tuesday, with Beijing Caishikou Department Store Co as the exclusive national distributor, marking the 24th consecutive year the company has served as Beijing's sole sales agent for the special Chinese New Year collection.
The newly released gold bars continue China Gold Coin Group's tradition of blending cultural heritage with exceptional craftsmanship. The series maintains the purity standard of 99.99 percent gold while introducing fresh artistic interpretations of the traditional Chinese zodiac.
The collection features six specifications ranging from 30 grams to 1,000 grams, with each piece displaying an intricately designed horse motif that combines characteristics of northern and western Chinese horse breeds. The design draws inspiration from the famous Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 220) bronze artifact, "Galloping Horse Treading on a Flying Swallow", which symbolizes success and smooth progress.
At the launch ceremony, senior executives from China Gold Coin Group and the department store emphasized the series' cultural significance and investment value.
The limited-edition gold bars have become much-anticipated annual collectibles, serving as both cultural symbols and valuable assets for collectors and investors alike.
"The commemorative gold bars represent not just a financial investment but also carry profound cultural meaning," says Ning Caigang, general manager of the department store.
