President Xi Jinping said China is ready to strengthen the synergy of development strategies with Thailand and share its development experience in the new era, when meeting on Friday with Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul.

Xi called for accelerating the construction of the China-Thailand railway and boosting cooperation in areas such as agricultural product trade, the green economy and digital innovation.

He urged the two nation to step up efforts to crack down on cross-border crimes such as online gambling and telecommunications fraud, and create a safe environment for bilateral exchanges and cooperation.

Bilateral ties entered a new phase of building a China-Thailand community with a shared future during his visit to Thailand in November 2022, further strengthening friendship between the two countries and their cooperation momentum, Xi said.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties and the Golden Jubilee of China-Thailand Friendship.

Standing at this new starting point, both sides should build on the past and forge ahead into the future, work together to advance the building of a China-Thailand community with a shared future to support each other's modernization drive and make greater contributions to the region's peace and development, Xi said.

Xi expressed deep condolences on the passing of Thailand's Queen Mother Sirikit, and requested the prime minister to convey his heartfelt sympathies to Thailand's King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua.

Anutin said Thailand hopes to strengthen multilateral collaboration with China to promote regional peace, stability and prosperity.

Thailand will continue to harshly crack down on online gambling and telecom fraud, he added.
