Former deputy general manager of China Resources expelled from CPC, public office

Han Song, former deputy general manager of China Resources Group, has been expelled from the Party and dismissed from public office for serious violations of discipline and law, China's top anti-graft authorities said on Saturday.

In a statement, the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision said an investigation, which had been ongoing since February when Han turned himself in, found that Han had engaged in superstitious activities. The statement added that he had repeatedly accepted banquets and travel services that could have affected the impartial performance of his duties in violation of the central Party leadership's eight-point decision on improving conduct.

Han also sought benefits for others in terms of job promotions and recruitment, improperly accepted gifts and prepaid consumption cards, or tacitly allowed relatives to receive improper remuneration, it said.

He was also found to have improperly interfered in economic activities.

The statement said Han had no regard for discipline or law, abused his power for personal gain and engaged extensively in power-for-money transactions.

He also used his positions to help others secure project contracts and job promotions, and illegally accepted large amounts of money and valuables in return.

According to the statement, Han seriously violated the Party's political, organizational, integrity, work and life disciplines. His case and related assets have been transferred to procuratorial authorities for review and prosecution.

Han previously served as assistant general manager of China Huadian Corp, chairman and general manager of Huadian Xinjiang Power Generation Co, and deputy director of the corporation's human resources department. He was appointed deputy general manager of China Resources Group in July 2024.
