ERA celebrates its 20th birthday in Shanghai
The acrobatic extravaganza ERA celebrated its 20th birthday at Shanghai Circus World on Sept 27, announcing its plan to embark on a residential performance program in Pattaya, Thailand next year.
Jointly produced by Shanghai Media Group, China Arts and Entertainment Group Ltd and Shanghai Acrobatic Troupe, ERA premiered at Shanghai Circus World in 2005 and launched an upgraded version ERA 2 in 2021.
By Sept 27 this year ERA has presented a total of 6471 performances, generating box office revenue of 810 million yuan ($113.7 million ) and hosting 6.1 million audience members, over 70 percent of whom are overseas visitors from 73 countries and regions around the world, according to Liang Hongjun, general manager of Shanghai Acrobatic Troupe Co Ltd.
