Xishan Badachu Cultural Week highlights heritage and fun

The 12th Xishan Badachu Cultural Week will run Oct 1-8 at Beijing’s Badachu Park, offering residents and visitors a festive blend of history, culture and interactive experiences for the National Day holiday.
Set amid ancient temples and autumn foliage, the weeklong event will transform the park into an open-air cultural hub. Highlights include blessing-printing rituals and revolutionary-era heritage activities. For instance, families can send “messages to the motherland” as telegraphs. The Eight Intangible Heritage Market will showcase traditional Beijing crafts.
On Oct 6, international students will join locals for a Mid-Autumn “cross-cultural reunion”, while hikers can collect stamps to exchange for creative souvenirs. Daily performances, eco exhibitions and mascot parades will add to the festive atmosphere during the holiday.
Organizers say the event combines patriotism with recreation, making Badachu Park a new cultural destination for the Golden Week.
