The success of Black Myth: Wukong has drawn attention to the many historic sites and architecture that were used as settings in the action PRG game, including Shuilu Temple, once a low-profile temple in Lantian county, Xi'an, Shaanxi province. First built in the sixth and seventh centuries, the temple houses a treasure trove of vivid colored figurines and statues.

Beyond the Form Realm, an ongoing exhibition in Tangshan, Hebei province, focuses on the historic and cultural values of Shuilu Temple, gathering still images and digital artworks to navigate the audience to the past and through to the present of this marvelous site and its treasures.
