The Xixi wetland park

Xixi, located less than five kilometers from West Lake in the west of Hangzhou, is China's first national wetland park. The area covers about 10 square kilometers, offering people a green respite from the concrete of the city.

Despite its increasing popularity, the wetland's winding waterways, lush greenery and rich biodiversity guarantee serene spots amid nature.

Xitang Ancient Town

Xitang Ancient Town, lying in Jiashan county in Jiaxing city, Zhejiang province, is a renowned ancient town in southeastern China.

In Xitang Ancient Town, there are well-preserved groups of buildings of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) with high artistic quality and research value. The town is famous for its many covered corridors, lanes and bridges.

Xitang Ancient Town looks like a masterpiece of traditional Chinese painting, but it is an affordable masterpiece.

Residents still live in the old-style houses, and many of the homes boast rare woodcarvings. The whole town is very well preserved.

Lu Xun Native Place, Shaoxing

Lu Xun Native Place Scenic Area is located in Shaoxing, Zhejiang province. It was the place where Chinese writer Lu Xun spent his childhood, and thus preserves many of his belongings and life stories for later generations to admire. The area is now a well-known cultural relic scenic area under national protection.

Known as the writer who held the most important position in East Asia during the 20th century, and praised as the national spirit of modern China, Lu Xun was an accomplished litterateur and a great thinker. He possessed expertise in many fields, including writing, translation, the fine arts, and the study of ancient books.
