The film aims to expose corruption in the financial markets, featuring tactics ranging from stock manipulation through fake news to predatory practices such as contractual hedging, according to the producers.
As of Tuesday, the film has grossed 5 million yuan ($687,910), making it the fourth highest-grossing film on the May Day holiday presale box-office charts, which will see a total of 13 new movies released.
