Former deputy head of China Tobacco under investigation

Zhang Tianfeng, former deputy head of the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration, is being investigated for suspected severe violations of the Party disciplines and national laws, China's top anti-corruption watchdogs announced on Friday.
The announcement was made by the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision online, with no more details released.
Public information shows that Zhang, 61, had worked for the tobacco monopoly departments in Shaanxi province and the Ningxia Hui autonomous region for decades before he came to the administration, also known as China Tobacco, in 2017.
He served as the administration's deputy head from February 2020 to June 2023.
