State Grid Wuzhong Power Supply Co is stepping up efforts to promote clean heating in rural areas, enabling 28,000 households to implement clean heating facilities in an orderly manner, said the company on Friday.

The company, located in the Ningxia Hui autonomous region, has been carrying out transformer capacity expansion and renovation projects at various substations in Ningxia, including the Weizhou Township 35-kilovolt substation in Tongxin county, Wuzhong city.

These initiatives aim to ensure a stable, clean heating supply for rural residents and electricity supply for rural companies because they can address transformer overload issues caused by the increased electricity load for winter heating in rural areas. The completed projects have effectively alleviated the risks associated with grid operation and enhanced the reliability of power supply in the region.

The renovation projects have benefited 28,000 households in receiving cleaning heating services from 2021 to date, the State Grid Wuzhong Power Supply Co said.
