Woman suspected of stabbing, killing neighbor detained

A 35-year-old woman surnamed Liang who was suspected of stabbing and killing her 27-year-old female neighbor was detained on Tuesday in Chengdu, Sichuan province.

A statement released by the Chengdu Pidu District Bureau of Public Security, Liang is a native of Chengdu and was living in the same community with the victim.

The reason Liang killed the neighbor is being investigated, the statement saud.

Earlier, local media reports said the killing took place at about 1 pm on Sunday, when the victim's mother, surnamed Wang, received a WeChat message from her daughter saying that she had found Liang wandering around their doorstep and spitting.

The mother called the property manager for help. She was told later that her daughter had been killed in the house.
