NPC concludes review of suggestions made this year

The review and handling of 8,314 suggestions submitted by lawmakers to this year's annual session of the National People's Congress, China's top legislature, have been completed, according to an NPC Standing Committee commission.
Feedback on the suggestions has also been sent to NPC deputies, the commission announced at a conference held in Zhengding, Hebei province, on Tuesday.
Submitting motions and suggestions is one of the primary duties of the deputies, who are required to put forward advice they receive about the country's governance and development in all fields during or after the annual NPC session.
The NPC Standing Committee collects and reviews suggestions, and then transfers them to relevant NPC committees and government departments to deal with.
Of this year's suggestions, 46.5 percent focused on accelerating the establishment of a new development pattern and the promotion of high-quality growth, and 15.9 percent involved the improvement of people's livelihood and well-being, the commission said.
After research and analysis, the suggestions were handed over to 204 departments for further handling, it added.
