Argentina receives first Chinese-made new-energy light rail train
A new-energy light rail train, produced by a Chinese company, was delivered to Argentina early on Tuesday at local time. This marks the debut of these Chinese-made trains in the South American country.
The train is Argentina's first lithium-ion battery-powered new-energy product for its rail transportation, and will serve the Quebrada de Humahuaca, a World Heritage site in Argentina, according to CRRC Tangshan Co, the train's producer. CRRC Tangshan Co is a major Chinese high-speed train manufacturer based in Tangshan, North China's Hebei province.
The project was signed in May last year, and the construction of the train was completed in June this year.
The company in Tangshan has dispatched a delivery team to carry out preparation work for the train's operation, including train debugging and testing.
