Former Sinochem executive under investigation


Du Guosheng, deputy general manager of the former Sinochem Group Co Ltd, has been placed under investigation on suspicion of seriously violating of Party disciplines and laws, a statement from China's top anti-corruption watchdogs said on Monday.
The investigation is being conducted by an anti-graft team in the Sinochem Holdings Corporation Ltd and discipline and supervision departments in Quanzhou, Fujian province, according to the statement posted by the Central Commission of Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision.
No other details have been released.
Sinochem Holdings Corp was established through the joint restructuring of Sinochem Group Co Ltd and China National Chemical Corp Ltd in 2021. A leading State-owned enterprise, Sinochem Holdings is focused on businesses related to fields such as life science, materials science, petrochemicals and industrial finance.
Public information shows that Du, 67, is a native of Liaoning province who started his career in 1982 and joined the Communist Party of China in 1985. He retired in 2017.
