Six killed after falling stones hit a bus in Chongqing

Six passengers were killed and nine injured after falling stones from the mountain hit a bus in Fengjie county in Southwest China's Chongqing on Thursday afternoon, according to local authorities.
Due to continuous rainfall recently, the stones, which fell from 30 meters above, hit the rear-end of the mid-sized bus with 18 passengers and a driver aboard. The bus had a capacity of 19 passengers, Fengjie Transportation Bureau said in a press release.
After the vehicle was hit, the driver and passengers immediately took emergency self-rescue measures and called an ambulance. Six passengers were dead on site. Nine passengers were slightly injured and quickly transferred to the hospital for treatment. Three passengers were not injured.
Local government officials and rescue teams rushed to the scene immediately after receiving the report. So far, rescue work has finished.
