Art festival kicks off in Beijing

The launching ceremony of the 7th Spring For Chinese Arts, annual art festival, was held at the Tianqiao Performing Arts Center in Beijing on March 22.

From March to June, over 80 performances will perform at the venue, from acrobatics to Chinese plays, and dance dramas to musicals.

During the launching ceremony, Beijing Performing Arts and Culture Innovation and Development Forum was also held, exploring issues such as theater management, theater talent training and creativity of theatrical productions.

With the country optimizing its response to the coronavirus pandemic, the performing arts market has seen a revival in the country since the beginning of 2023.

Highlights of the upcoming 7th Spring For Chinese Arts will see the symphonic ballet dance, Spartacus, choreographed by Russian dancer-choreographer Yuri Grigorovich and performed by Liaoning Ballet, staged at Tianqiao Performing Arts Center from April 7 to 9, the Chinese play, A Lifelong Journey, adapted from an award-winning novel with the same name by writer Liang Xiaosheng, will also be staged at the venue on June 24 and 25.
