A forum entitled AI, Technology and Art was held recently, enabling Chinese and Italian artists to engage in an imaginative and cross-cultural brainstorming session on the future direction of creative art.
Participants were from the Museum of Contemporary Art Shanghai – known as MoCA – and Treccani, an Italian-language encyclopedia. The two sides signed a strategic cooperation agreement to strengthen their communications.
AI's entry into the field of art has been considered one of the most difficult challenges to mankind. That's because of a widespread train of thought that the technology innately does not possess human creativity, so its art is devoid of an aesthetic essence.
But the fact is that many artists have long used technology to its fullest extent to further their own creativity. This, in turn, has sparked off a philosophical debate, which was one of the main reasons why the forum was held.
