Dalian, Liaoning province, reported two asymptomatic COVID-19 carriers on Saturday. Both had close contact with previous confirmed cases and were identified in quarantine, the city's COVID-19 prevention and control headquarters said on Sunday.

They were transferred to a designated hospital for isolation and treatment. The nucleic acid tests of the two patients on August 19, 22, 25 and 26 were negative.

Later on Sunday, the headquarters announced 13 abnormal nucleic acid test results were found during regional nucleic acid screening from 10 am on Saturday to 12 pm on Sunday. Another two abnormal test results from mixed samples were under review.

The nucleic acid test results of the above personnel were negative in the regional nucleic acid screening on Aug 22 and 25.

The northeastern port city immediately launched an emergency response mechanism, quickly began the quarantine of related personnel, and carried out other work such as epidemiological investigation and gene sequencing.
