Flash flood leaves 10 dead, 23 injured in Gansu

Ten people have been killed and 23 others injured as of 6 pm after a flash flood tore through a scenic camping area in Weiyuan county, Dingxi, Northwest China's Gansu province, on Sunday afternoon.

Short but heavy rainfall triggered torrential mountain floods, trapping some tourists camping in the area, according to a report by Xinhua News Agency.

Emergency rescue forces, including local police and firefighting departments, have arrived at the scene. Search, rescue, and disaster relief operations are underway.
