Yet despite her criticism of the interiors, Kalkreuth finds the building "striking", adding, "I remember a sense of excitement when the program moved into the new building, and the feeling that we were also part of something new - a space designed for creative thinking.
"Approaching it for the first time, I thought it amazing that in a city with so many repetitive block towers, we could attend classes in a space designed with a strong sense of imagination. It looked as if the usual components of a building had been disassembled and rearranged - like the structure was inviting you into new ways of seeing."
