Home to PolyU's School of Design, Jockey Club Innovation Tower has 160,000 square feet that can accommodate 1,800 staff members and students. The futuristic building houses a lecture hall, 10 classrooms, design studios and workshops as well as exhibition spaces. PHOTO PROVIDED TO CHINA DAILY

At its unveiling in 2014, ZHA partner Patrik Schumacher predicted that the building's interior spaces with natural light streaming through window bands would "let people know what others are doing". He added, "They serve a social function, and encourage the fabric of knowledge through increased communication and productivity."

Eight years later, Roxanne Chung is a current fourth-year interior-design student at PolyU. Despite the pandemic interrupting in-person classes and tutorials, she has clocked countless hours at SD on group projects and tutorials.
