Inbound tourism businesses and international guests were invited to explore facilities for the 2022 Winter Olympics in Yanqing district of Beijing on Sept 29.

The event, organized by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, is part of the capital city's efforts to enrich inbound tourism products and publicize the city's rich cultural and tourism resources among international travelers. Guests for the event visited the Winter Olympic venues, as well as hotels and homestays in the neighborhood.

The Beijing bureau hopes participants in the event will provide feedback to help enhance the appeal of local culture and tourism and better serve the needs of inbound travelers.

The authority believes the pandemic will eventually end and inbound tourism will see a strong rebound then.

It will continue to roll out 11 themed travel routes in the next few months.

After the winter games, the Winter Olympic facilities will be adjusted for multiple purposes, such as becoming ski resorts, venues for top ski matches, and leisure parks, according to Fu Liansheng, a senior official for logistics at the Olympic village in Yanqing.

The facilities for the Winter Olympics are expected to open to the public in late November 2022.
