The musical version of The Orphan of Zhao, a drama based on a traditional Chinese tragedy, made its debut in Shanghai on Thursday night.
The Orphan of Zhao, a drama written in the 13th century similar to Hamlet, is adapted by Xu Jun, a Shanghai-based director, and artists from Hong Kong and Taiwan, based on the British theatrical version of the play written by James Fenton.
The show will be staged at Shanghai Culture Square until June 6.
