A symposium was held in Beijing on May 13 to discuss the future of hit documentary China as it enters production for the second season.

The documentary, produced by Hunan Satellite TV and livestreaming platform Mango TV, reveals the evolution of philosophy, governance and culture of China throughout the ages.

China's first season was rated 8.6 out of 10 on the major review site Douban when it was aired last December.

As the second season is underway, the symposium aimed to boost exchanges between the producers and experts in the field to carry on the documentary's sterling reputation and quality in the upcoming season.

Officials, media workers and critics attended the symposium.
