The per capita disposable income of families with disabled members has registered an average annual growth rate of above 6.5 percent over the past five years, said a report on Thursday.

By the end of last year, more than 90 percent of disabled people were covered by basic old-age insurance, China's pension fund system, and more than 95 percent by the basic health insurance, said the Blue Book of the Cause for Persons with Disabilities.

Published by the Social Sciences Academic Press, the report said access to rehabilitative services and equipment have also reached more than 80 percent over the period.

About 95 percent of disabled children have received the nine-year compulsory education, it added.

The report was compiled by the Institute for the Development of Disabled Persons of Renmin University of China, alongside a government-backed nonprofit for promoting publicity of disability interests.

The findings were released ahead of China's 31st National Disability Day, which falls on Monday, as part of a review of the progress made in curbing poverty among disabled communities during the 13th Five-Year Plan period.

The report said more than 7 million disabled people escaped absolute poverty over the five-year period, and 2.84 million received free occupational trainings by end of 2019.
