No major public security cases occur across China during May Day holiday

BEIJING - Chinese people concluded a peaceful May Day holiday as no major public security cases or accidents occurred from May 1 to 5, the Ministry of Public Security said Friday.
The number of criminal incidents dropped 20.5 percent year on year, and there were 65.3 percent fewer road accidents compared with the previous May Day holiday, said the ministry at a press conference.
Safety and order were ensured at 772 large-scale public events as well as in major tourist destinations and border ports, according to the ministry.
